Peter Foldy

Born in Budapest, Hungary, PETER FOLDY spent his formative years in Sydney, Australia. After a family move to Toronto, Foldy enrolled in film school, but supported himself by playing music in a rock & roll band. When a record company heard his original songs, Foldy was signed to a contract and watched his first single, "Bondi Junction" climb to Number One on the Canadian pop charts. A successful, ten-year run in the music business followed, which also included touring and several other hit records for labels such as Capitol/EMI, Polydor and RCA Records.

After relocating to Los Angeles, Foldy once again began thinking about making movies. He wrote and sold a teen comedy, that managed to find worldwide success. Made on a budget of $450,000 the film earned close to $10,000,000 USD worldwide. “Hot Moves” helped established Foldy as a screenwriter and before long he jumped into the world of feature films as a writer/director, working with stars such as Paul Rudd (“Ant Man”) Beverly D'Angelo (“National Lampoon’s Vacation”), Jan-Michael Vincent, (“Air Wolf”), David Warner (“Titanic”) and Academy Award Winner, Louise Fletcher, (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”) - among many others.

To date, Foldy has written, produced and directed dozens of films and television programs. He was a co-creator of an off-Broadway play that ran for two and a half years in New York and has been a music supervisor and a consultant on a numerous others projects. He has taught film and screenwriting at the prestigious Film Connection Academy in Los Angeles and is often a speaker at various film festivals when time allows.
